Richard Parks Lecture

In December 2010 Richard started the unique, multi discipline '737 Challenge'. A gripping 7 month expedition to climb the 7 Summits, (the highest mountain on each of the world's continents), and venture the last degree to The South Pole and Geographic North Pole. All against a 7 month clock!

7 summits, 3 poles, in 7 months. A world first.

2012 Lecture by Richard Parks - World's First 7 Summits 3 Poles 7 Months

Best of ShAFF

1:00 – 2:30 Main Hall - The Sheffield Adventure Film Festival is one the UK’s biggest and best, and in this programme we show award winning films from the world of caving, speed mountaineering, surfing and wild white water kayaking, all taken from the ‘Best of ShAFF 2011’. This is at the true heart of adventure film festivals and not to be missed!

Best of Kendal

3:45 – 5:15 Main Hall - Kendal Mountain Festival is the UK’s premier Mountain Film Festival and in this selection from the ‘Best of Kendal 2011’ we show award winning films featuring climbing, sailing and music making in Greenland: the intense winter cold and commitment of Himalayan 8000m peaks and also a touching portrait of introducing skateboarding to the war weary youth of Afganistan. Best of Kendal is certainly one of the highlights of HVAFF 2012.
