John Muir ‘Alone Across Australia’

This is a rare chance to see this award winning, emotional film of one mans incredible journey walking south to north across Australia.

Born in 1961 John Muir is no stranger to extreme adventure and has climbed Everest as well as numerous lower but more difficult peaks, and has walked to both the North and South Poles.  However, this journey, in 2001, was his toughest ever adventure, to become the first person to walk solo and unsupported across Australia.  He set out from the South Coast with his dog Seraphine, and arrived 128 days and 2,500 km later on the North coast on the point of starvation and exhaustion, after living largely 'off the land' while walking through 4 of the driest deserts on earth.

'Alone Across Australia' is an epic and emotional film that pushes deep into the spiritual heart of Australia and the will of one man to succeed.

We have 2 showings:-   3.30pm in the Main Hall and 9.00pm in the Music Hall.   52 mins.
